From Drab to Fab in Beverley Hills

When some of my favorite clients purchased this home in Alexandria’s Beverley Hills  neighborhood 3 years ago, they knew they would eventually have to do something about the kitchen. The floorplan was a little awkward and the kitchen was small and closed off from the living and dining rooms. It was also dated with 90s style pickled cabinets, mismatched appliances and a door right in the middle of the work space.

When they finally decided it was time to remodel, changing the floorplan was a priority. They opened up walls to the living and dining rooms and added a huge center island.  You can see touches of their sophisticated style throughout the design. They made good use of the remaining wall in the dining room by adding built-in cabinetry in a light grey.

Other nice touches are the hidden microwave (under the counter in the island) the family friendly quartz counter tops, the brushed brass hardware and even a place for the doggy bowls.

One of my favorite parts of this job is that I get to see all of the before and after projects and I’m often part of the discussion. If you are thinking about a remodeling project I’d be happy to listen to your ideas and give you thoughts about resale and ROI. Feel free to contact me any time.
