A quaint and eclectic neighborhood sandwiched between Arlington and Old Town, Del Ray is like its own little town. Developed in the 1930s, Del Ray became home to many of the railroad workers who would walk down the street to work. Proximity to the Braddock Rd. Metro is now one of the draws of the neighborhood. Homes here are characterized by bungalows, farmhouses and brick duplexes. In more recent years the neighborhood has undergone a major revitalization including not only the homes but businesses as well. Along the main drag, Mt. Vernon Avenue, you?ll find upscale restaurants, wine bars, gourmet shops, ice cream parlors, antiques and an old fashioned hardware store.

Del Ray hosts several events throughout the year such as ?Arts on the Avenue? an annual Turkey Trot 5 Mile race and a weekly farmer?s market.

Rosemont is just west of Del Ray and features a variety of styles of larger homes where many of the railroad engineers lived in the early days.

Jim Morrison, lead-singer for the 60s band, ?The Doors? grew up and attended school in Del Ray. Homes in these neighborhoods range from the $300s to the high upper brackets.
